WHY WEB? ARE YOU KIDDING?

Submitted by Scot Simmons, Co-founder, ProConnectLA

So here’s another mystery solved…Americans are spending more time online. In fact studies show that more than 80% of us now spend as much time online as we do watching television. Pretty compelling statistic…tells you a lot about our culture, our communication and our commerce. And if that doesn’t really do it for you, just think about how many cell phones are out there…and how many cell phone owners would have said phones grafted to their hand if that was an option…and how much we actually depend on those little info machines to tell us about and tell our friends and help us find EVERYTHING.

Seems to paint a very clear picture of where our audience is and how to reach them…yes?

Get a website. Or a web page. If you have one, update it, refresh it, augment it…use it. Your potential customers already expect to find you on the web. There are billions of internet users — millions of which live in the U.S. — with more and more and more logging in and tuning in and diving in every day. It is truer now than ever before: If you don’t have a website/webpage/web address, you don’t exist.

Put another way, if a potential customer cant find you on the web, they won’t find you…but it’s a safe bet they will find your competition.

Word of mouth is not longer enough. No longer near enough. Get online. Get yourself out there…among the hordes of potential clients who are in search of your services. They are employing one or more of the truly excellent search programs available for use today. And although it’s a good idea, you don’t even have to commit marketing dollars to spread the word. If you’re on the web, many search engines will simply find you. You can choose to build on that later…or not.

There’s a lot more to this discussion…and I’ll be sharing more with you in the weeks and months ahead. For now, though, if you have any questions I’m happy to help if I can.

I build web pages and web sites. I create bios and press kits and brand plans for a diverse multitude of clients…and I can assist you in conceptualizing and creating the ideal web presence for your particular product or service. Happy to kick around ideas and talk with you about the possibilities.
